Aston Martin DB5 1964 - SOLD

£0.00

This Aston Martin DB5 is a rare and iconic 1960s sporting grand tourer, presented in impressive condition, and boasting superb provenance having been previously owned by Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan. The car has since been fully restored between 2015 and 2016, now featuring a few discreet upgrades for enhanced usability. Certainly this elegant classic would make a stunning addition to any collection of legendary Aston Martins, and will no doubt be in demand for further concours events.

It is powered by a 4.2-litre straight-six fed by three SU carburettors, which sends 282 bhp to the rear wheels via a five-speed ZF manual transmission.  The odometer shows 42,524 miles with an extensive, documented pedigree.

Compared to its predecessor the DB4, the DB5 boasted an enlarged engine capacity, a full synchromesh ZF five-speed manual gearbox, a set of Girling disc brakes, electric windows, and twin hydraulic brake servos, making it a true grand tourer.

This example retains its original specification of Goodwood Green paintwork over a Luxan Tan Connolly leather-trimmed interior, complemented by beige Wilton carpets, a black dashboard, and a three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel.

It rides on a set of 15-inch polished wire wheels with three-eared ‘Route Borrani’ knock-off hub nuts, which are shod in a set of matching Avon 205/70 R15 radial tyres.

The car recently benefitted from several upgrades fitted by marque specialist Clayton Classics, including a high-output alternator, LED headlamps, LED interior lighting, a centre armrest with phone charging facility, a negative earth conversion, hazard warning lights, central locking, electronic ignition, and a bespoke integrated twin-evaporator air-conditioning system to provide optimum cooling in all climates.

The car will be accompanied by a comprehensive history file and the logbook.
