The Warmth of Wood
Every restoration Hemmels undertakes is completed according to the wishes of our clients. This means motorcars can be restored either to original factory specification and colours, or to a bespoke design.
One subtle but important visual specification is the woods for the centre console and dashboard trim.
Many choices are available and in some cases we're able to source exotic woods to meet the requirements of overseas clients from Asia, Australia and America who may prefer woods from their home countries.
The differences in woods is significant with, textures, grains, patterns and colour tones varying. Above, inside the smooth centre console the reflection of the square-weave carpet is mirrored perfectly.
In these handful of photographs we've shown different wood types beside various blue leather samples. These shots were actually requested by a client undergoing their final styling choices - all part of the journey when commissioning your dream classic.
When you choose the colours for your car - paint, carpet, leather, soft top, stitching - the final choice in your ensemble is usually the wood trim. Though it is an accessory to the grand design, your choice of wood tone plays a [ivitol role in defining the unique character for we strive to create for your car.
Choosing your colours and personalising your dream car is part of your journey with us here at Hemmels, and we are passionate about working with you to achieve your special classic.
