Into The Blue
Amongst the coolest icons to own a classic SL was the trumpeter Miles Davis, who recorded the legendary Kinda Blue album. Some years ago we explored the blues and hues of his day, and the factory colours that Mercedes offered.
This month we get back to the blues, from traditional to avant-garde, and all that jazz.
The photos above are Midnight blue, and though it is a non-metallic variant, the reflections dance off the surface, Complemented by a tan interior, the car is at once both classic and contemporary.
We have created many classics with unique shades of blue - virtually anything is possible. Below our 'Cardiff Blue' special blend is dazzling courtesy of the BMW's headlights.
Even in the harsh light of a showroom the 'Cardiff Blue' dashboard has an impact, nicely offset by parchment leather.
Blue is the colour of our skies and oceans. Above, Horizon Blue is an original Pagoda colour.
Above, a light beige interior pairs nicely with Horizon Blue, as does a navy blue interior below.
Here, a metallic mid-blue brings both sparkle and style to a 280SL. It's remarkable how a slight change in tone colour can evoke such a different emotion in a car's character. The light beige interior (below) suits the car perfectly.
And if blue is not your favourite, then fear not - virtually any colour tone is possible. We are here, ready to create your unique classic in any colour, and with your exclusive choice of options and styling preferences.
