Hemmels 1961 RHD 190SL For Sale
We are thrilled to showcase this remarkable 1961 Mercedes 190SL RHD, elegantly finished in DB050 White with a striking Red Leather interior. This vehicle holds a unique history, having been previously owned by Olympic Studios in London, renowned in the 1960s as one of the premier recording studios. It hosted legendary artists such as Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Ella Fitzgerald, and Queen, among many others.
It is said that the keys to this car were entrusted to the esteemed Dame Shirley Bassey during her visit to London while recording her iconic album "I Am What I Am."
More recently, Hemmels discovered the car in the United States, where it was last owned by Tim Hauser of Manhattan Transfer. The vehicle was then transported back to the UK, where Hemmels meticulously restored it to their exacting "Neugeboren" standards, effectively rendering it 'like new.' Since the restoration's completion, the car has only been driven a modest 196 miles and is now ready for its next owner.
Upon finishing the restoration, Hemmels had the honor of presenting the completed 190SL to Dame Shirley Bassey at a prestigious dinner in Monaco, as captured in the accompanying photographs.
Additionally, it is important to highlight that the RHD 190SL is a rare find, with less than 1,000 units ever produced in this configuration, further enhancing its appeal.
We can arrange nationwide and international delivery through our network of reliable shipping agents.
