New Acquisition Drives Hemmels Evolution

CARDIFF, UK, March 7th, 2025 – The assets, intellectual property and brand rights of Hemmels, renowned custodians of Mercedes-Benz classic cars, have been acquired by serial entrepreneur Mr. Sid Sadique, forming the foundation of a new venture, Hemmels Automotive Ltd.

The intent behind the move is to drive the evolution of the original company, with plans to establish partnerships in the USA, Australia and UAE, in order to provide face-to-face service and exclusive in-country lifestyle events for clients. Further, the new company will aim to efficiently expand its product line through synergies with Mr. Sadique’s range of related businesses that include Mercedes-Benz commercial truck and van specialist Estar, eHGV specialists Electra Commercial Vehicles and DOT Motorcycles, a revived vintage brand that delivers a completely custom and bespoke product.

Mr. Sadique’s passion for classic and modern classic cars, keen eye for detail and love for the Mercedes-Benz marque were contributing factors behind the acquisition agreement. With over 30 years’ experience in the sector, he is a fellow at the Institute of Road Transport Engineers and is chairman and board member of several other enterprises.

Hemmels established itself globally over the last 7 years by restoring Mercedes-Benz classics to a superb standard and exactly to the specifications of its clients. “Neugeboren”, meaning “new-born” in German, is the company’s flagship process for re-injecting new life into its classics, which are regarded as the world’s finest.

“I am pleased and excited to be launching Hemmels Automotive Ltd and continuing to create the world’s best new-born classic cars.” said Mr. Sadique. “As we move to zero tailpipe classics my experience of EV and FCEV vehicles will bring a new skillset to Hemmels and provide our clients with new products for tomorrow’s world.”

Key staff members are poised to join the new company to ensure a seamless transition. There are approximately 50 Hemmels cars on the road around the world, including the Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda, 190SL and 300SL Roadster and Gullwing models.  Hemmels has previously held exclusive events in Monaco, London and Pebble Beach (California) showcasing classic cars and entertaining clients.

“Beyond providing superb cars we will offer lifestyle events including luxury tours and rallies” continued Sadique. “We will give our clients the perfect excuse to use these cars as they were meant to be used, while creating a networking community for likeminded people.”

The Hemmels product offering has been brought into the 21st century with the introduction of the Pagoda EV, winner of the GQ Resto Mod of the Year Award in 2023.  A Pagoda Sport and R107 Hemmels product are in development and scheduled for delivery in 2026.
