Star Power

The Mercedes-Benz 3-pointed Star is more than a logo. For over 100 years the emblem has captured the ethos of the company, revered for combining elegant simplicity with engineering prowess.
This month we take a look at the power of the Star on the front of the car - and the powerplant behind it.

Let’s step into the workshop to have a closer look…

On The Grill

Like many design aspects of the original SL motorcars, the Mercedes-Benz Star on the grill is but one voice of a choir. When gazing at a classic SL our eyes are treated to an overall harmony of features, with the Star subtly - yet resolutely - there as an unwavering centre of gravity.

Strong, deep and graceful, the pillars of the Mercedes-Benz brand are tastefully forged upon the car and its many admirers.

While the 300SL, 280SL and 190SL are beautifully proportioned, you might be surprised at the actual size of the 3-pointed Star.
Classic Mercedes-Benz owners know all about the bullet-proof resilience behind every car, as emphasised with depth of the barrel cylinder.

Above, the headlamps, bumper and grill come together to form a balanced, symmetrical view, with the Star confidently being the centrepoint. Elegance and engineering resonate to create perfect synergy.
